Hi all,
We are glad to announce the release of the long awaited version of iOS Pix4Dcapture that supports new drones including Phantom 3 and Inspire 1!
Here is the corresponding forum post: https://community.pix4d.com/t/4968
You will find details about the procedure if needed.
Best regards,
Hi
Today, i tires to use my Phantom 3 professionnel with capture aps, but when i lunched the mission the drone stay in same place, and i couldn take any photo wiith this ap, please could helps me thanks
Hi Andy,
Did you have green ticks in the takeoff checklist?
You can find more information here: https://support.pix4d.com/hc/en-us/articles/204765035
We also recommend to make sure:
- The DJI GO app is not running in the background because it is launched automatically when the USB cable is plugged.
- The appropriate drone is selected, please see: Settings of the app: Home screen > settings icon > Drone type > …
Best regards,
My drone has twice lost communication with app and I have to fly back manually. The abort puttin is replaced with the start button on app. And idea how this could happen using iOS app.
Second question are there plans to change app from a rectangle grid mission to a polygon custom for irregular sites. The would greatly increase efficiency of flight time. Thanks.
Hi Ryan,
To answer your questions:
- Could you tell more about the app version and the drone you fly? Are you flying large grid missions in area with obstacles like trees or building? What do you mean by the abort puttin is replaced with start button? When losing the connection you tried to use the abort button of the app and it did not work?
- We will not directly allow the users to fly polygonal missions but they will be allow to draw polygons and the app will automatically convert the shape into several grid missions of different shapes in order to optimize the reconstruction with Pix4Dmapper.
This new feature will come very soon on Android but was not implemented on iOS yet.

in pix4d capture
in the takeoff window
( P3A , P3P and I1 ) Drone is flying : Verifies That the drone is flying . The drone needs to be flying to start the mission . The drone does not Have to be flying high , 1 or 2 meters is enough .
I need “take off” before inside the app DJI or as I go or take off the drone ?
Hi Wilmer,
Once having the takeoff checklist on the screen, start the propellers of the drone and make the drone fly above the ground by some meters, this does not have to be very high.
No need for DJI GO for that, on the contrary the DJI GO app should be running in the background.
Simply manually take off the drone, wait for the check to turn green and then press Start for 3 seconds.
