please help … the pix4d application to capture phantom beta 3 was updated to version 2.0.3 … but now the drone rises about 80 cm and do not follow the flight plan stays there, as I can fix
To use the Capture App, it works just using the latest version of the firmware (v1.4.0010) in my Phantom 3? Or it is necessary to install the Developer’s Firmware?
Vicente: lo has utilizado con el firmware 1.4.0010 y te ha permitido manejar la App? A mi no me responde la App. No sé si es un problema del firmware u otra cuestión. Gracias
@ Mekong Consultants: The Capture app on iOS is not yet compatible with the Phantom 3 so you cannot connect to the Phantom 3 with the Capture app on iOS for the moment. We don’t know yet when a beta on iOS that supports the Phantom 3 will be available.
Along with a large number of operators we have been patiently waiting now for over 6 months for an update on a release for the Phantom 3 / Inspire 1, which as you stated previously would be likely released by the end of May.
As an entrepreneur in an industry that is growing exponentially month by month, our ability to rely on technology suppliers to meet their product development timelines within a reasonable measure is essential. At this point, there are many of us in the market that are now searching for alternatives and will most likely leave Pix4D to die in the dust as a provider that couldn’t meet it’s promises.
As much as I like the Pix4d software, the fact that the company has not come forward in months to give us an proper update, other than excuses about the DJI SDK and IOS issues, says something.
There are currently other providers out there and more showing up on a daily basis that listen, respond and provide development timelines that are met. If you expect customers to pay the astronomical price that you seek charge for use of Pix4D in a professional context, you would think ensuring your technology is compatible with the market leading UAVs would be a priority. Apparently not.
I know our company will be moving on to use other services in the future and rely on suppliers that meet their deadlines and don’t treat customers with contempt.
If you would like to respond, it would be great to receive some clarification and an update on release dates, if this company expects to keep us and many others as future customers.
It doesn’t look like they even visit this forum very often so CS is not their strong suit for sure. I was led to believe that the iOS Beta would be forthcoming in the next week or two…but that was a couple of weeks ago. I may follow suit with Mr Stirton et al.
We honestly thought the Capture App would be compatible with the Phantom 3 and Inspire 1 last May but we were wrong and some issues were actually underestimated. We apologize for this mistake and if this puts you in an uncomfortable position.
The Capture App is free of charge and aims at assisting our users regarding the image acquisition plan. However it is not required in order to obtain good results since Pix4Dmapper can process images taken from any drone/camera combination.
Ideally we would like to give more precise updates but it is important to meet our commitments regarding the deadlines. This does not depend solely on us but on many exterior factors that make planning and estimation difficult. Hence we are not able to define a release date.
We are also aware of the professional duty of our users and that you have to stand by your commitments. We understand your frustration.
Please rest assured that we are working together with DJI to make the official version available as soon as possible and are doing our best to satisfy our users.
While our developers work on the stable release, you can also try the Android beta of the Capture App that supports both Phantom 3 Advanced/Pro and Inspire 1 here: https://community.pix4d.com/t/4828
I’m having the same issue as Mekong consulting. I 'm using android and have followed the protocol for using the beta but it seems I have the same issue I had from outset where its prompting me for wifi
Is there additional download that needs to occur to enable the capture app to recognize and work with phan 3 + android?
When is the capture app coming out of beta ? Its continuing to be very frustrating to try and get the app to work. There are competing technologies and for me personally this is simply becoming to time consuming without the hoped for results. A simple fix is a app that works -non beta. Thanks
There is no Capture app beta version yet available for iOS. The beta only supports Android to fly with DJI Phantom 3 and Inspire 1.
We do not know when the iOS version will be released. It is currently being developed.

Please note that the development of the Android version started before the iOS version and iOS is still catching up with the features on Android.
Note also that if you do not use the Capture App it is already possible to process images captured by your drone with our computer software Pix4Dmapper since their cameras (P3A, P3P, and I1) have been added in the database, so the optimized camera parameters will be loaded for processing. This is fully supported. For more information: https://support.pix4d.com/hc/en-us/articles/202560819
If the application is asking to connect to WiFi, it means that there is a connection problem which is an error we are aware of. This depends on the Android version and device time to time. DJI recently released a new SDK that should fix the problem. Our Capture team will soon integrate it.
Many users do not encounter problems, same here in our office with our Android devices.
Meanwhile we recommend to make sure that:
The DJI Go app is not running in the background because it is launched automatically when the USB cable is plugged. Once you have connected the USB cable, check that the DJI Go app is not running.
The appropriate drone is selected, please see: Settings of the app: Settings > Drone type > …
I would like to echo Philip’s question above as it was posted over a week ago and has been met with no response. At this rate, we are likely to see DJI release the Phantom 4 before Pix4D has a compatible Capture app for the Phantom 3.
It is now February 22, 2016. When is the expected release date of an iOS Capture app that is compatible with the Phantom 3 / Inspire 1?
We are desperately awaiting an answer to both Madison and Philips questions above?..can someone give an indication as to the release date or a link to how you can use the P3P (iOS) with Pix4d?
