Phantom 3 Professional Support

Hi Peter and Eduardo,

@Peter

There is no Capture app beta version yet available for iOS. The beta only supports Android to fly with DJI Phantom 3 and Inspire 1.
We do not know when the iOS version will be released. It is currently being developed.

We will post updates on our forum when the beta will be available for iOS here:

You can follow this post to be notified when a new comment is written. Click the “Follow” button on the top right corner of the post to follow it. Note that you need to be logged in with a Pix4D account to click this button.

Please note that the development of the Android version started before the iOS version and iOS is still catching up with the features on Android.

Note also that if you do not use the Capture App it is already possible to process images captured by your drone with our computer software Pix4Dmapper since their cameras (P3A, P3P, and I1) have been added in the database, so the optimized camera parameters will be loaded for processing. This is fully supported. For more information: https://support.pix4d.com/hc/en-us/articles/202560819

If you want to perform a manual flight we would recommend to check this article about the flight plan acquisition and the different overlap requirements: https://support.pix4d.com/hc/en-us/articles/202557459

@Eduardo

If the application is asking to connect to WiFi, it means that there is a connection problem which is an error we are aware of. This depends on the Android version and device time to time. DJI recently released a new SDK that should fix the problem. Our Capture team will soon integrate it.
Many users do not encounter problems, same here in our office with our Android devices.

Meanwhile we recommend to make sure that:

  • The DJI Go app is not running in the background because it is launched automatically when the USB cable is plugged. Once you have connected the USB cable, check that the DJI Go app is not running.
  • The appropriate drone is selected, please see: Settings of the app: Settings > Drone type > …
  • The latest firmware is installed on the drone.
  • The SDK token is accessible: https://support.pix4d.com/hc/en-us/articles/203142669

Also we would recommend to try:

  • Restarting everything again (close the app, switch off the drone and the remote controller) might help.
  • Starting to fly / making the drone take off before pressing start, that is followed by next and the checklist.

On our forum the following workflow was suggested: https://community.pix4d.com/t/4568
Let us know if you give it a try.

Best regards,
