Lag between Pix4D Capture and DJI Phantom 4 Pro

Hi Pix4D,

I’m currently using a DJI Phantom 4 Pro with Pix4D capture on Android, and the app doesn’t seem to be able to connect with the drone in synchrony. If I move the drone by hand, the drone icon will only move after about 10 seconds.

This means that when I do a grid mission (for vegetation surveys), the camera is not activated, and therefore no images are captured.

The drone will follow the grid, without capturing any images.

Has anyone had similar issues or is there a solution to this?

Best wishes,

Sol

We did not hear about similar problems so far.

Could you first confirm you have installed:

  • Android Pix4Dcapture 3.8.3 and plugin app (Ctrl+DJI) 1.6.1 (last release 29.06.2017).
  • Latest DJI GO (4) app.
  • Latest drone firmware.

It would be helpful for us to know the following information.

  • Device’s brand and model:
  • OS version (ideally the latest):

I just experienced the same issue.

I just purchased a new DJI Phantom 4 Pro, and updated all of the firmware.

I’m using a Samsung Galaxy Tab S with OS version 6.0.1

Pix4D Capture 3.8.4

CTRL+DJI 1.6.2

Hi Jon,

Could it be related to the issue reported here: (Android, iOS) Images are not captured?
Check the troubleshooting article as it solves most issue for our users.

I’m having similar issues using IOS. The drone will fly the grid per Pix4DCapture, however, a lag in communication between the app and the drone causes photos to be taken in the wrong locations or not taken at all. It seems to get worse the longer the flight goes on.

Same here. Lag and MISSION CAN"T LOAD…is driving me mad. Lost days. Its the best Capture algorythm out there; I just can’t get it to Load or fly normally now :frowning:

Please see a recent post i put up today. Mission Loading issues are BRUTAL and time wasting by hours and days now. Not to mention wrongly triggered captures. PLEASE HELP. Capture quality is awesome; but I simply can’t capture!!!

I gave up on trying to figure this out or get help from Pix4D and have since switched to Litchi to fly the drone and DJIFlightPlanner to create the missions. Images are time based instead of relying on communication between the drone and controller. I’ve flown about a dozen flights so far. All pictures are perfectly spaced and I’m getting even better point clouds due to the even photo coverage.

Hello,

The behavior you describe can’t be replicated on our side and has not been reported to us so far. There was an issue in uploading the project with the last version, but the issue was solved. So, I would suggest you to update the software to the latest version. If that doesn’t solve your issue, I would suggest you go through all the basic checks and troubleshooting steps as it will solve most of the issues that can be encountered if properly followed.

In case the issue is not solved, I would also recommend you to go through our support article on Which image acquisition app can I use with Pix4D’s software?.

Regards,

Thanks for acknowledging posts above. What is the latest version? If i delete the app and reinstall, will i have lost all my previous flight plans?
Issues in order of problem:
-Missions fail to upload, (BIG BIG ISSUE force long time)
-lag in telemetry (aircraft position on map screen)
-THUS…seemingly…no/miss triggering in wrong places
-no Kml file import, (in ios)
-No degree of direction of mission (massively helpful for multiple missions on one site),
-No Cloud Backup of mission plans to use/import to other devices
-No Renaming from number only (in ios)
-Android version is tedious (borderline impossible) to bring in Kml flight plans and project on top. Near impossible to work out.
More probably too!!!

Why is there a lag/latency of +20 seconds for aircraft position on screen go its actually position??

I LOVE the app (imagery is clearer than in all others) when it works. PLEASE ADVISE ANSWERS to all of the above.
Finally, with mission upload failures, and after following ALL problem solving processes, it still fails. Please advise what devices are best to use (i have ipad mini 4) to have a successful mission.
