I have the same issue which appeared on week ago after upgrade (with a mistake in sequence or softwares) former upgrades were well done in sequence and successful.
So i uninstalled then re-installed DJI GO (before and after P4) the installed CRL+DJI then Pix4D capture.
I tested as well downgrading to former versions which went well during some months.
Last i re-initialized my tablet (galaxy S2) then re-installed last version.
I still get some blurry images (and also cannot setup overlap with spteps of 5 % as before but with steps of 10 % which is preventing to setup missions in a right way).
Could we now i this is a device version issue (ie need to buy a new one) as standard setup looks not efficient in my case as it has been since february ?
We were able to reproduce the behavior here in the office (blurry images).
From the information, I have at the moment, there is an issue with the way the focusing works for Phantom 4 Pro in the current Android version of the app.
To give you some more insights, we only observed this behavior on the Android version of the app and with the DJI Phantom 4 Pro drone. The possible workaround is to use another drone or the iOS version until the issue is resolved.
Just finished a 3rd scan using Pix4d capture and unfortunately 50% of the images are useless and blurry. This issue is not related to focusing but related to the (Auto) settings that the app is programmed to set thinking it’s optimum setting but they are not.
I want to be able to decide the best aperture to use and what shutter speed suites the mission under the current light conditions. I’m so frustrated with this app as I don’t have these manual controls and so far not been able to use it!
I have the same problem of unfocused images, both with my Inspire 2, and Phantom 4 Pro. I noticed that when I left Pix4DCapture and switched to DJIGo, the focus was no longer at infinity, as I had left before the takeoff. In the APK code, maybe this variable is being modified.
@anas, the automatic setting from the DJI camera are used for the image acquisition and, at the moment, not all the settings can be manually changed. More information here: (Android and iOS) Camera settings in Pix4Dcapture.
I forwarded your message to the team in charge in order to take it into consideration.
@Arturo, which camera are you using with Inspire 2? Have a look at this community post as it might give some interesting hints on how to approach the issue: Inspire 2 X5S Focus Problem.
More specifically, Andrew mentioned that it makes sense to calibrate the camera before flying a mission or to use the C1 or C2 option to invoke autofocus.
I think this is more than a forward to the team. This is a walk on in and don’t leave til its HIGH on the list of to do’s.
Here is what Brad said.

Attn Pix4 folks: I’ve been a long time user and am left extremely disappointed in your inability to fix this issue. I spent several hours today flying with the double grip trying fast /safe mode, 5 different altitudes, setting focus to info it’s etc. all under bright daylight. Viewing the live feed shows fuzzy focus.
Same scene flown manually with NO focus issues at all. Level roadway no elevation change etc.
This threads been going since the beginning of 2017. I think it’s time the developers get to it and fix this.
Echoing the sentiments of others here with current versions of CTRL+DJI and Capture producing blurry photos on the P4P. Please fix this ASAP. Extremely dissapointed that I’ve paid $350 USD for software I can’t use since I can’t get photos that are in focus… Please help us out Pix4D.
I would like to inform you that we are actively working on resolving the focusing issue on DJI Phantom 4 Pro. We are expecting to introduce some improvements in future versions.
We will update this community post once the issue will be resolved. Also, I recommend following thetechnical release notes in order to be informed about the latest improvements and features.
We only observed this behavior on the Android version of the app in the combination with DJI Phantom 4 Pro drone. The possible workaround is to use another drone or the iOS version until the issue is resolved.
We are also getting this problem often during the start of the missions only. We have been using auto camera settings - when looking at the file info the settings were the same for both good and bad images on the last mission…
Focal Length 8.8
Metering mode 2
F number 4
Exposure programme 2
Exposure time 1/120
IOS 11.4.1 on an ipad
Phantom 4 advanced
Im confused why some images came out ok and others not? It was a gusty day but I would expect blur to occur randomly during the 18minute mission rather than at the start.
Thank you for joining the conversation and posting your system’s associated details. Could you post some of these images? I would like to see an example of one of your good images and one of your bad images. Try and locate two closely taken images that vary greatly in appearance, I’d like to look over them. Analyzing these images will help me understand your problem better.
Hello.
My P4A also has a problem with autofocus.
No settings from DJI GO 4 are remembered by PIX4Dcapture.
Always PIX4D changes the autofocus to manual in macro mode.
Pictures are not useful.
I use Android, DJI GO 4 v4.3.0, Pix4Dcapture v4.3.2.
