DJI Controller - Mavic 2 Pro - Pix4D No Connection

Downloaded Google Play for android on the DJI Controller, and Ctrl+DJI.  Can’t connect to the drone through Ctrl+DJI

DJIGO4 you can disable the app.  Reboot the controller. And it shows disabled. Still no connection

Downloaded the latest versions of each app as of 06/19/19.  Went to the web page for compatibility shows android should work since 5.01

Not seeing it.  Your loosing a sale here.

Same problems today with the DJI Smart Controller and Magic 2 Pro.

Hello Henry and Edwin,

The DJI smart controller is very new on the market, and we have not tested its compatibility with Pix4Dcapture. From the other user feedback, it looks like they were not able to connect using the DJI smart controller, and it seems like there is an issue. For now, the interest has already been shared with the developer’s team.

Just to let you know you can use any flight planner software and still analyze those data using the Pix4Dmapper software.

I have the new M2P smart controller, it does not connect and does not read the PIX4D app, what solution is there for that?

Hi Richard,

The DJI smart controller is not compatible with Pix4Dcapture app that is why you are having a connection issue. Please contact DJI regarding the mission planner software which is compatible on the controller.

As reported by Gerald, the SDK for the Smart Controler (which enable third-party app like Pix4Dcapture to implement support) has been released very recently by DJI and we have shared this information with the Product Owner. So far it is not in our pipeline to implement support for the DJI Smart Controller.

Just to let you know you can use any flight planner software and still analyze those data using the Pix4Dmapper software.

Kapil,

Thank you for the update. If you would like to continue drawing customers to use Pix4D, wouldn’t it make sense to support the mission planning effort with an application as you have in the past? I may be a future customer, but I’m having difficulty beginning with the data collection, so I’m currently not eager to pay for your services when I’m unable to collect currently with my SMART Controller. You say people like me can use any flight planner, yet I don’t know one that works yet. I am researching though. My intent is to create Orthorectified imagery with GCPs.

What planner software does work on the SMART Controller?

Hello,
Thank you for your suggestion, and I do understand the point you are trying to make. I would definitely forward this to the developer team. From the different community posts related to DJI smart controller, it looks like the Litchi is working in the DJI smart controller. I would recommend you to try that. Just to let you know, you can use any image acquisition app and still analyze the data using Pix4Dmapper.

Hi
I also am trying to connect the DJI Smart Controller to the Mavic2Pro with Ctrl+DJI for planned missions.
Installing the Pix4DCapture and Ctrl+DJI app are cumbersome, but possible, and both seem to be working properly.
The issue seems to be in connecting Ctrl+DJI to the drone in smart controller.
I have no problems switching back and forth from DJI GO4 to Pix4Dcapture with the standard controller with IOS and I assume it is working with Android as well.
Why has Pix4D not corrected their software to make the connection to the drone?
The Software has been released for almost 6 months!
Getting the app to connect to the drone should be such an easy update!
A lot of your customers seem to be requesting this update, including myself.
I really like the Pix4D app and I really like the DJI Smart Controller, primarily because it allows a much simpler connection process compared to using my iphone and the battery life is much longer on the Smart Controller. The whole system is simpler and more professional using the Smart Controller than connecting a smart phone to a standard DJI controller.
Please make this update happen soon.

Jeff

Hello @drone6survey,

Thank you for sharing your feedback and the suggestion. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. At the moment, supporting the DJI Smart Controller is not in our timeline. From the different community posts related to DJI smart controller, it looks like the Litchi is working in the DJI smart controller. I would recommend you to try that. Just to let you know, you can use any image acquisition application and still analyze the data using Pix4Dmapper.
