Single kml file

Hi, is there any way to get just one easy single kml file for orthomosaics? I mean without folders and zip files. Metashape can…

Hi @srosello ,

Welcome to our community! Good to have you here!

Do you mean you would like it to be exported and saved it in other folders rather than going to the project folder and looking for it? Love to know more how you would prefer to have it.

Unfortunately, right now the only way is to find it in the folder. You can find the kml file in this path: ….\project_name\3_dsm_ortho\2_mosaic\google_tiles

In Processing Options, under the tab DSM and Orthomosaic, in the Orthomosaic section, select Google Maps Tiles and KML. Ensure that only step 3. DSM, Orthomosaic and Index is selected, and step 1 and step 2 are not selected.

Hi Rosana, I did what you suggested. The problem is that I get a heavy folder with many tiles for opening the kml. Metashape gives one medium size kml file with very decent resolution. Any ideas how to get this deliverable?

Hi @srosello

You can also try the following workaround:

  1. Navigate in your PC until the google_tiles folder of the project
  2. Ctrl + click to select the following files.
  3. Right-click and select Add to “google_tiles.zip”
  4. Change the zip file name to google_tiles.zip to google_tiles.kmz
  5. Drag and Drop the google_tiles.kmz into Google Earth

Please let me know if one of this two workaround solved the issue.

Have a very nice day!

Best regards
