I am not sure if this is the case with everyone here, but I can see when my photos did not take when the drone returns to home and starts the upload of data, it will stay at zero uploaded. It does not save you from the loss of a full flight, but it might help people who are leaving the site going home to find an empty SD card.
Hello everyone,
I am having same problem from the day i start using pix4d capture. Before i opened a topic with different name and now i found that so many have the similar problem about not taking pictures. i read all messages and understood there is no solution and answer. only answer is if its latest software or dji app working behind or turn off all device and start again. first of all i checked all software firmware updated. all ınstruction given pix4d.com i followed. all check were green every flight. i tried fast, slow, different angle, different overlap, restart again, uninstall and download all app. again, reset sd, as a summary i tried everything i read in here. Result is almost 25 flight try 4 times battery charged, spend almost 3 hours and all failed. ıt didnt take any pic. finally took pic at 26th flight and i just dont know what is the problem and what i must do. i am having that every week. the only thing i can do to try again and again till it takes pic. because i really dont know what is the problem and seems that nobody knows including technical support pix4d. next week i will try different applications for flight mission. if i find a good one working properly i will let you know. ıf not i will keep reading that board, maybe one day somebody will solve this problem.

have a nice weekend all

I am running Pix4d capture ver 2.6.0Ā (iOS) and it appears to be working properly nowĀ as of 11/17/2017. The only setting change I made was dropping the speed setting to medium. I flew 5 projects on 11/17/2017 and all of them worked properly.Ā
DJI phantom 4 pro (current firmware & current DJI go update)

Hi Jason
Thats what i mean, bad part is nobody knows what is the problem. You are so lucky that you do not have any issue on your flights. Bealive me it is very stressful to send drone so many times and fail the mission. I am using p4p, android app all latest version. So you are advising me to change my device with ios? App is working better in ios?
I would recommend iOS - historically it gets updates faster and in my opinion it is more stable. Version 2.6.0 appears to be the first revision that works properly again (iOS at least). I have not tried it with my phantom 3 4K yet, but hopefully it will work as well
I am relatively new to the applications and developed a work flow for the process, I make sure that my mission is no more than 13 minutes and do overlaps, however I to am having the same issue with drone returning some times with no pictures.Ā And another issue developed.Ā The last 2 mission flown has pictures but the application will not download them in the Pix4D Capture software.Ā But I have verified pictures are there.Ā What are my options for pulling the images taken into the application if the download fails.Ā Also what is the issue were the drone flies the mission, it sounds like it is taken pictures, but on the return - no pictures.Ā ???
Itās time to solve this issue, before anything else: the first post was posted a long time ago.
I updated my previous comments with the latest news but it did not send email notification:
āø Why it is happening and best practice, click here.
To check if the image acquisition is properly working:
-
Switch to the Camera view when the drone takes the first pictures. The screen should blink if the picture is effectively captured as the video feed is interrupted so the camera can shoot.
-
In the telemetry pop-up, the SD card memory should be decreasing. The information is live. If it decreases, it means images are effectively saved to the SD card.
Ā
āø More information about the future improvement (summarized below), click here.
We are currently checking with the developers how to get a feedback from the drone to detect if images are effectively taken. Therefore, the users could stop the mission at the beginning if something is wrong with the camera and not wait the end of the flight to realize images are missing.
At least, we would display a warning pop-up if DJI does not send a callback after Pix4Dcapture triggered the camera. However, the callback might not be sent by DJI even though the images are captured. We are also thinking about checking whether the amount of free space is decreasing on the SD card or constant (capture fail).
Rest assured our team is trying to find the best compromise to improve the user experience.
Perry - Antonio,
Are you both running iOS & 2.6.0 Pix4Dcapture? I just flew yesterday (11/22/2017) more than 400 photos - 90ac (24 min flight) and it worked perfect again - this is my 7th flight on this revision and it is working good.
Phantom 4 Pro - iOS
I flew some missions about a week ago after updating to 2.6.0 on my mini iPad mini with my P3P. I initially flew a very small test area near my office and was excited to see it took and saved all of the images. I flew another little bit larger area and unfortunately it did not save the images. The next day I flew at a study site using my iPhone 5 with the Pix4d update 2.4 and could tell it was not triggering the camera off the bat so I started manually clicking the shutter button on the remote control to capture the images I needed. I tried using my iPad mini again on the next flight and again no images being captured unless I manually took them. The way I tell it is taking images in flight is the camera feed flashes black. It wasnāt doing that when flying unless I clicked the button on the remote. The next 2 missions I flew, the app started putting a camera icon on the map whenever I took a photo manually. On the second of those missions, it was putting an icon on the map, but it was putting it on the next row of my flight plan. Not sure what that was about. I donāt have a data connection on my iPad so I was using cached maps. Thankfully, all of the imagery I captured manually, processed perfectly in Pix4d. I just wish I could get the app to take the photos for me again.
My iPad is running IOS 10.3.2. My iPhone 5 is running IOS 10.3.3. What update and device is everybody running the app on? I know my iPhone is old. I canāt get 2.6 on it unless I update the IOS. Both of my devices have small storage and usually always full. Wondering if I need to free up space for running and processing in the app.
Matthew,
On the first flight you did with ver 2.6.0 on P3P did you adjust the speed setting slower (not sure if you get more than fast or slow on that model) - storage and processing speeds should really not be a factor from my experience. I would recommend formatting the SD card before each flight.
The second part of your flight I am not sure how you are taking photos manually. DJI app should be closed when using Pix4Dcapture
Jason-
I use the fastest speed setting when flying. I did try the slow mode and it did take and save the photos I needed, but it took 4-5 times longer to cover my area. That isnāt really doable for me for my study areas. I have formatted the SD card through the DJI app, but it didnāt make a difference.
I can trigger the camera through the shutter button on the DJI remote control that came with the drone, even when flying in the Pix4d app. The DJI app is completely closed out while flying in Pix4d Capture.
hello everyone,
same issue continue this week. i had 4 mission failed. no capture photo and i aborted mission. last 2 weeks i am trying a solution, i am not sure if it is solving the problem or just by chance but seems that when i do that i complete missions. after i start the mission while rising up from home point, i am taking some picture manually from the button on remote controller. last 2 weeks whenever i do that it took photo during mission. next week i will do that at first mission, if i dont fail this will be my temporarily solution until pix4d solve the issue for permanent.
Regards
I did three flights today.
First one saved like I expected.Ā The other two went over just fine, but in their mission manager icon, thereās a sub-icon indicating some ācloudā.
Long story short. Where are my photos??
Thanks.

Hi,
Same problem with my Mavic pro and Pix4D capture (2.6.0 on iOS). I did 5 flight today, the first 3 are ok, but the last to didnāt take any photos⦠Iāve to try it tomorrow and lost a lot of time⦠please check as fast as possible this trouble.
ThanksĀ
Julien
All say the same in their messages: itās time to solve this issue because itās impossible to work in these conditions.
P.S. I will not mention this issue tomorrow during my presentation at World Engineering Forum 2017, but you can easily
Understand
Ā that it would be very embarassing if one should like to see a demonstration
Had the same problem of not being able to take any pictures in fast mode. Lost a whole day mission last week and have spent 3 days trying to find a solution.
So the only choice I found till now is taking pictures in safe mode which very much limites the surface area and project quality. Is it not possible to raise the amount of waypoints above 100 so that at least we can do the maximum in safe mode?
Very nice to send us cyber sale offers but if we cannot even take the pictures we need not much chance of us being interested at all.
Ā
Hope the bug will be solved soon
Last but not least every time our drones fly is not sure that all goes right (and they cost much money!): it is a risk and when they return without any photo the only thing sure is that all is wrong and we have to risk again!
Ā hi,
last update from my side⦠last week i said i will try with manually take picture while p4p is rising up. So i just had a mission and it was a successful one at first try. When i was getting ready for the flight i realized that pix4d capture has an update, we have now polygon mission also. Normally my mission is taking 12 min. this time i arrange more overlap and slower but it was only 9 min. I am not sure yet if this is because of app. update but doesnt matter, to complete mission at first try is a nice feeling)). Thanks to pix4d if they fix the problem, if not you can activate camera with manually taking pictures at beginning of the missionā¦

Have a nice weekend
