Offset command

Has the offset command been removed?

to clarify i mean the ability to set specific vertical and horizontal distances within the polyline offset command

Yeah… wtf.

Hi @photchkiss @drone12 ,

Thank you for sharing your feedback.

Which version of PIX4Dmatic are you using? I’m using 2.11.0 and I can create offset polylines using the procedure described here: Vectorization tools - PIX4Dmatic

Please share your step-by-step procedure leading to the problem so I can try to reproduce it.

Thank you for your cooperation.

I was running 2.10.3. I have a perpetual license. Formerly I could create a polyline, click on it and offset it both horizontally and vertically. A dialog box would come up when doing that. Now that is gone. I cannot upgrade to 2.11.0.

The documentation states “With the current licenses, PIX4Dmatic Standard and PIX4Dmatic Analyst, the features available in PIX4Dmatic 2.0 correspond to those of the original standalone products:” but that is not the case. I do not see any Vectorization tool in either Matic nor Survey. How can I do this? Without that feature mapping curb is so cumbersome that I’ll need to look for another software platform and say farewell to Pix. I like Pix and was efficient using it. Hopefully, you can answer my question but it would seem when the section box was introduced the offset functionality was removed.

After thinking about It maybe you do not understand what surveyors need to create curb, Curbs are formed and consistent. We need the ability we once had to offset a polyline, the entire polyline, a specified distance both horizontally and vertically. Not to drag it using the ALT key some random distance we cannot check without then measuring. Does that make sense?

Hi @photchkiss ,

Thank you for clarifying. Yes, the offset feature is still there and hasn’t been removed, but it seems you can’t add defined offsets as you could before (image below).

Let me check this with my colleagues, and I will come back to you here in this thread.

Thank you for understanding.

Hi @photchkiss @drone12 ,

I confirm that the “offset box” removal was unintentional and will be re-added in one of our upcoming patches. I apologize for the inconvenience!

In the meantime, you can use PIX4Dmatic 2.5.4 to access this feature.

You can download this version from here:

I will keep you posted here when the fix is released.

Thank you again for reporting this :folded_hands: .

Daniele

Daniele,

I appreciate your and Pix4D’s prompt response and resolution to the issue. 2.12.0 was downloaded this morning and the offset workflow with the dialog box is back to how it was.
