Inconsistencies between Android App and IOS

Inconsistencies:

  • Importing and using a KML
  • Changing the background map
  • Flight planning

I know I will get a generic response that these topics already exist but they have still not been addressed in over 2 to 3 years of requests.

It is crazy that I need to have a dedicated android device to import a KML. We work on sites that are constantly growing and shrinking and the need for KML helps to focus flights on areas of interest. There are also safety and liability concerns that being able to import a KML, helping you avoid no fly areas. Yes there are differences in the operating systems but a good app should be identical across all platforms.

Please address these inconsistencies. This a huge UI/UX inconvenience that has been stated numerous times on this blog with no update.

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback. We are aware of those inconsistencies and

In term of flight planning, both iOS and Android versions of Pix4Dcapture are very close to each other and you should be able to fly very similar flight plans.
Also, the ability to change the background map is similar in between the 2 versions and you can even add a custom background map as google map.

Best,

I couldn’t find a way to change the background amp in iOS. I had both phones in front of me and was not able to replicate the workflow from my android device in regards to changing the background map on my iOS device.

When you select the settings on the main home screen in iOS, the only settings you have are to choose which drone you are connecting to. I also looked in the flight settings and I was not able to find anything.

I will post a video latter demonstrating.
