I am facing Issues with Pix4DMapper Processing

Hey everyone,

I have been using Pix4DMapper for a while now but I am facing issues during processing & I could really use some help. I am working on a project with a large dataset, and for some reason, the processing gets stuck at different stages—sometimes at step 1 and other times during the DSM and Orthomosaic generation. My system has decent specs high RAM and GPU so I do not think it is a hardware issue.

I’ve tried adjusting processing options, lowering image resolution, and even running the project on a different machine, but the issue persists. Has anyone else experienced this? Are there specific settings I should tweak to improve stability? Also, does Pix4DMapper have a preferred file format or naming convention that might be affecting things?

While troubleshooting, I was also looking into a Java course online to automate some tasks—has anyone tried integrating coding solutions with Pix4D?

Also i have see this Why is Pix4D Mapper very poor at processing times with multi processor support? . I appreciate any tips or advice.

Thank you…

Hello @sunita65rwt, Any kind of crash are mainly related to the incompatibility of the hardware or the outdated software such as GPU. I would usually recommend the following.

    • Using an external USB or network storage drive. Using an external USB storage drive or network drive is not recommended and can result in instability or crashing. Ensure that the project images and outputs are stored on the same internal drive for the best performance and stability.
    • Corrupted installation or Preview version. Ensure that the latest stable version is installed correctly. Uninstall PIX4Dmapper then download and install the latest stable version available. For more information: Download PIX4Dmapper.
    • Set PIX4Dmapper to use High Performance in the system’s graphics settings:

      • Close PIX4Dmapper if still running.
      • Go to the Windows Settings, select System > Display > Graphics and browse
PIX4Dmapper.exe* (typically found in " C:\Program Files\Pix4Dmapper " if not already appearing in the app list).
      • Click Options and select High Performance.
