Can DJI GO4 be active/open with Pix4Dcapture Pro open in a Mission?

Are there any problems with having GO4 opened on an iOS device while simultaneously using Pix4Dcapture Pro to control a Generic Mission? As of this post date, all software on my overall system is the most recent, and tested only in the office.

Hello @aerialwhidbey, You shouldn’t open any app that connects to the drone or the controller while using PIX4Dcapture Pro.

Thanks, that has been my assumption. However in a chat session with DJI tech support about implementing Remote ID (RID) on a Phantom 4 Pro V2, it appeared that GO 4 must remain open to enable RID, which could cause problems if Pix4Dcapture Pro is also opened. Perhaps there’s been a miscommunication. Or perhaps the latest DJI software versions for that drone are incompatible with Pix4Dcapture Pro.

Hi @aerialwhidbey,

In general we ask to close any other app in order not to create conflicts.

It is possible that keeping the DJI app open in background is not creating problems, but you need to make sure that you are not swapping between apps and you are not actively using the DJI app.

This does not apply when controlling the DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise series drones. Here other apps must be closed.

Hi Daniele,

Thanks for the clarification. Much appreciated!

Locally, the second failure of a P4P Pro V2 gimbal has led to retiring that machine and moving toward the Mavic 3E. I hope that the newer gimbal design is more reliable.
