I have started a new project and I am attempting to upload the images from the photo mission. When I do so, Matic uploads the images then pops out the error that my camera is not supported, and will not load the images. I have used the same camera prior for other missions using Matic with no issue. How do I correct this? The camera is a Sony a6000.
Slight correction the camera is a Sony ILCE-5100.

Hi Miles,
We’re working on this issue. I’ll respond to you from the ticket and post the solution as soon as we know what the problem is.
Regards
Álvaro
Good morning,
I am curious if there has been any headway into the problem I have encountered and if there is a solution. If Mapper would be a better solution, I would like to be able to transfer my license to that software instead of Matic. There is no point in owning a piece of software that does not work with existing hardware.
Hi Miles, The team is continuing to look at it, but there are some issues with the data. The images all have the same geolocation tag, some of the images have corrupt EXIF data, some are in portrait orientation, and others are in landscape, and they all have a focal length of 2553mm. It seems these were tagged and changed by the .bat file in the folder, which has commands to overwrite all the default EXIF data. The images to not load in Mapper or Matic.
I keep getting the error that the camera is unsupported… how do I get it supported? I do not believe that the EXIF issue is the part stopping me as Matic is supposed to be able to process images without exif data as well. Why is my camera unsupported?
I have tried stripping the EXIF data off and uploading that, and still I get that the camera itself is unsupported. I was able to quasi correct the issue with how LIDARUSA computes the focal length, that apparently is a software glitch, but one that I can correct manually.
Prior to purchasing the license for Pix4DMatic, I was using a trial copy for a few weeks in April. In that trial period, I flew a site and used Matic to produce an orthomosaic. The drone has not changed, the camera has not changed, none of the settings have changed. I went and checked the EXIF data between those photos and my current photos, and they are identical save for the focal length. I have the job file for that trial flight to find those images. In that job file, all the photos are green checked and they processed fine. In an attempt to try to sort this on my own, I then opened a new project and attempted to bring in those previously accepted photos, which failed with the same error as all the other attempts.
This tells me that the error is not on my end. Please help me fix this.
Hi @miles.welch thank you for your patience, and I was just about to give you an update! The team confirmed that, unfortunately, there was a bug in the way we support cameras, preventing PIX4Dmatic from successfully creating a camera model. It should be fixed in the next release in a couple of weeks, so make sure your in-app notifications are on for new prewiew versions (Edit menu > Preferences).
