Beta macOS version of Pix4Dmapper 3.0

It is working!

Thanks!

Antonio Anelli would like to get in  touch with you to discuss more on best specs for mac pro with Pix4D, my email is robert@outbackdrones.com.au look forward to hearing from you

@ Alan Mathieson. Surely. This is my email address: ing.anelli@aerialdroneostro.com or ing.anelli@tin.it and this is my site www.aerialdroneostro.com. See you later

Just installed 3.0.18 on SO X  10.11.6. Getting error “Project version is greater than software version” when trying to open project that was processed in Pix4Dmodel cloud. [Error]: Error e0400c: Cannot open project…

Hi Aleksey,

Actually the software versions are not retro-compatible meaning that, as an example, version 1.0.1 is not compatible with 1.0.0 or that version 2.1.0 is not compatible with 2.0.0. Not compatible means the project cannot be re-opened after being created or processed with a more recent version.

This is what happened. The Cloud processed with 3.2.15 and the latest Pix4D Desktop version for Mac is 3.0.18. Therefore is fails when opening the .p4d file downloaded from the cloud.

To access the different versions of the software, please visit: https://cloud.pix4d.com/download/

Regards,

How is the new version 3.2 coming along for OS X?

3.0.18 is the lastest beta OSX version, while 3.1.23 is the latest Win version ad the 3.2.19 is the last. I’m waiting from november 2015 for a definitive and releable OSX version (if I’m not wrong, you promised that the 3.2 will be not beta): is it finally ready? Is it able to use all Mac Pro (late 2013) features?. Kind regards

Hi,

The Mac development is currently on-hold but rest assured that we report every case to our Product Manager so that it pushes the development in favor of Mac computers. In other words, the Mac version will stay beta and 3.0.18 for now.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

I figure I’ll add my voice here If it helps get Mac development out of hold and moving again. One of the major reasons I chose Pix4D as my mapping solution was the promise that a full Mac version would be released any day now. Needless to say, I’m more than a little disappointed by this news.

Sorry for the previous communication that was not clear enough. The development of the Mac version is still ongoing. However, the release process is on-hold in the sense that we are currently not able to provide a precise timeline.

We honestly thought a stable Mac version would be ready for 3.2, but this did not work out as planned unfortunately. We understand your frustration, but rest assured the Mac version remains among the highest priorities for the developers.

Updates will be posted on this thread as soon as we can be more specific.

I appreciate your efforts, but I think (and hope) that now is the time to convert promises in acts, isn’t it?

These comments crack me up. As always thanks for the hard work :o)

Hi PIx 4D where are we at with the latest version of the Mac and when is it not going to be Beta, we have paid a great amount of money for the stand alone version of Pix4D and being a mac user we are being left behind. Does this seem fair? and now to be told that it is on hold again does not seem right!

Look forward to eharing from you soon.

October 13rd 2015: this is the date of my first comment about OS X version! Is it so difficult to make a prevision about the next definitive OS X version?

Hi Alan and Antonio,

During the release process, some blockers can arise which delays the development of the next stable Mac version. Our developers have been working hard on improving the software infrastructure that was critical to remove these blockers.

Unfortunately, another issue appeared recently which reduces the likelihood of having the Mac stable ready for 3.3, therefore we rather aim 3.4.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

Thanks for your answer, but my one year support and update period is near to expiring without a stable Mac OSx version, and the renew costs 650 euro, it is not free of charge! Keep this in your mind, please.

No updates to this forum for about a month. What’s the current status?

The current software version is 3.2 and the Preview is 3.3. For the Mac version we target 3.4 which would a priori happen in October as a very rough estimation. But we are not able to guarantee any release date.

We have just purchased (for other tasks initially) the latest June 2017 release:
27" 5K retina display,
i7
32Gb RAM
Raedon Pro 575 GPU
external 1TB SSD
… Question 1
Are we better to run Win 10 via Parallel OR Pix4d for OS?
…Question 2
What sort of processing time can we expect: 30-40ha
75:75% overlap @80m ATO
DJI Phantom 4 Pro (20mp camera)
approx 900 images

Thanks

Troy

@Troy Fardell: I use a Mac Pro (late 2013) and Boot Camp to run Win 10 Pro.
