I am trying to purchase a high spec computer for PIX4dmapper and am coming across the problem that the new high spec computers only come with Windows 11 pre-installed and when I asked Dell if I can un-install the pre-installed Windows 11 and install Windows 10, they say no. Does PIX4D mapper work with Windows 11? Will it work with WIndows 11 soon?
My company already has a relationship with Dell, so will need to go with them

That’s too bad.
Hi Mark,
Thank you for your question, and welcome to the Pix4D Community.
Please understand that we can’t give a date right now, but the support for Windows 11 will not come before 2022.
We received feedback from many users being able to use Windows 11 without issues; others needed to update the drivers of different hardware components (most important, the GPU) before being able to use PIX4Dmapper.
Other users are reporting issues with the interaction between PIX4Dmapper and the windows explore window when, for example, opening a project, saving a project, or importing images.
For the issue described in the last sentence, we suggest this workaround:
You can copy/paste the directory instead of clicking on "Browse…"
To insert images, you can drag and drop them (and avoid clicking on “Add Images…”)
I hope this helps.
Yes, this is the info I was after and helps a lot with making decisions for appropriate hardware to purchase, many thanks.
Hi Mark,
I’m glad you find my answer satisfying.
Note that at this moment, Windows 11 is not yet a recommended OS for PIX4Dmapper (Computer requirements) and we suggest our customer wait with upgrading to this OS.
On the other hand, we are also aware that many users are starting to adopt Windows 11 and that some new devices come with Windows 11 already installed.
Feel free to go to the PIX4Dmapper release notes page and click on Follow. You will then receive notifications for all the new versions with a list of the improvements.
Cheers
Hi @mark.langsford,
Please take a look at this thread where we also suggest a workaround that could help you use PIX4Dmapper on Windows 11 (solution II).
