Hello everyone. I tried searching the forum but didn’t see anyone having this issue with Pix4dMatic so maybe this is fixable.
I am working on a large orthomosaic. It’s around 5000 61mp images. The processing took under 20 hours even at 0.7cm/px GSD and the end product is looking pretty great…
Unfortunately for me, sharing from Pix4dMatic to Pix4dCloud has been a nightmare. Each attempt requires preparing the orthomosaic (convert TIFF to COG, convert COG to Web Mercator, and then build overviews for Web Mercator TIFF) before attempting to upload. The prep time for these files is 5 days (!!!) and, of course, all of this prep work is not saved if you hit the error that I do. You have to do the entire 5 day process from scratch in order to try again.

I suspect this is due to my login for Pix4dMatic expiring before all of this prep work is complete. I’ve tried running this multiple times and have re-logged in when I find the software has logged itself out but… Nah. It appears that method doesn’t work as it’s looking for the original login token.
My project is over a month past due at this point and all I’ve been able to export is a TIFF that the client can’t view due to it’s size. My comp has been running this over and over with failure after failure. This month’s subscription cost has gone completely to a project that I am beginning to think Pix4d just can’t do.
Does anyone have any idea on a solution?? These projects are something I hope to have on an ongoing basis if I have not already lost the client.
I need any one of these solutions answered if possible…
- Extend the token long enough to do this exhausting prep work so it will actually attempt to upload it to the cloud.
- Have the prep work SAVE so that I don’t have to redo it every single time I try to share it to the cloud.
- A viable alternative that will get the project onto the cloud with tools for the client similar to Pix4dCloud.
System specs, if needed…
i7-13700K processor.
64 GB DDR4.
4tb NVME.
Geforce 3060ti.
Thanks in advance for your time assisting me with this. I’m at my wits end.
