Reoptimzing for merging projects

When I need to merge 2 or more projects, I run step 1 for each one, add GCPs and mark them in raycloud for each one and re-optimize them separately. Then I add them to the merged project and directly run step 2 and 3.
Should I re-optimize again after the projects are merged together before running step 2 and 3?
thank you

Hi Raffaele,

The first steps are correct: process step 1 for each subproject > then mark MTPs for each subproject (with the same name and for the same features) > Reoptimize.

Subsequently, merge these subprojects into one big project > verify in the quality report that one block was created > proceed with steps 2 and 3 (if applicable).

There is no need to reoptimize after merging.

Hi
How many MTPs are recommended?
Thank you

Hi Maria,

You should add at least 3 Manual Tie Points (MTPs) in the overlapping area between the projects. Ideally, they should not be aligned, so that they cover all degrees of freedom. Feel free to add more MTPs, usually between 3 and 5 should be sufficient.

You can find more information on how to merge projects in this article: https://support.pix4d.com/hc/en-us/articles/202558529
