Hello good people of Pix4D. I’m sorry I couldn’t visit with you at SDEUC. Had I been able to attend I may have shared these notes with you… Ideas for enhancements to ‘Fields
-Provide a choice to create the Surface Model, or not, when importing images. This may save time for those cases when the surface model is not necessary.
-Provide a way to add general notes and/or use of the annotation layer, for each layer or flight, to record global issues.
-Be able to adjust the size of text used on the home page (to enable seeing more of the title!!)
-The ability to initiate an import, via drag and drop of several folders, would reduce a lot of button clicking and save a lot of time. I recently saw you do this on Pix4DMatic and was super impressed.
-Field insights should use the same units as the system is set for. Also, please add soybean!
-In general, reduce mouse clicks - for instance, why do we select a folder for input and then have to use the “select folder” button? Can we simply double click? Or drag and drop? There is an awful lot of mousing around and clicking.
-Ability to add annotations while in compare mode.
-Ability to see more than 2 images in compare mode
-Ability to import a file with comments for the flight, which then are included in the reports. “Soil was moist, clouds cleared during flight, corn is at V5, fungicide applied eight days prior” etc
-Provide an option to NOT redistribute colors when filtering the Histogram. People will ALWAYS assume green = good. If I slide the endpoint past the edge of a color, don’t remap it. The distribution of colors should be static and never change. The histogram ends typically act as cutoff filters in most other software. Please, please, please
-Looking at details of visual spectrum Orthomosaics, to identify weeds in green on green, requires a lot of panning and zoom in / out. This may be aided by a magnifier lens that shows the highest resolution of the image below the curser.
-Ability to change the order of layers displayed, and the order inserted into reports
-Ability to limit the projects displayed by organization / client / field and have that STICK until changed. Right now, when making changes to many projects it requires entering a project, makin the change, exiting the project and then scrolling back down past many fields when the field you really wanted was immediately adjacent to the last field edited. LOTS of scrolling and clicking.
-Enhance specific images within the orthomosaic to compensate for changing light or moving shadows of clouds. In other words, if there is a line of images that were cast in shadow by a moving cloud, could the software identify this phenomenon and then compensate for it? Kind of like normalizing the light across the entire field?
-Plus the other items I shared in similar posts from 2025.
Nice work on the recent update! I am excited about the new satellite imaging!
