Pix4dmatic needs some way to export a complete 3d textured model

Just like Pix4dmapper, we need to be able to export fbx model. Sorry newbie, so may not be aware of how to make a obj. or cesium file a deliverable. If I have a client who is wanting a complete textured 3d model of their property, or put the model on sketchfab for viewing. Need more options.
Sorry if I’m mistaken.

Hi,

I made a quick search and found this: https://help.sketchfab.com/hc/en-us/articles/202508396-Supported-3D-File-Formats

Haven’t tried it out myself, but it seems like OBJ is compatible with Sketchfab, they seem to ask for the MTL file, which is something we provide with our export. Here is an example of the files we produce when exporting an .OBJ:

Maybe you can try this and let us know?

Thanks

Yeah, but sketch fab and most other programs has a file size limit of 100mb. Please add 3D model video to Matic

Do you refer to something similar to the video animation feature in PIX4Dmapper? e.g. https://support.pix4d.com/hc/en-us/articles/202560299-How-to-create-a-Video-Animation-Trajectory-in-the-rayCloud

In this case, the output would be a video of a model, instead of the model itself.

@Pierangelo_Rothenbuhler You’re right. It’s Video of a model. I didn’t mention the output name properly. By any chance do your team plan to add this in Matic. It’s a good feature to have.

@rayavarapunani yes, we plan to add this, but it will take some time, hard to give an accurate timeline for now. We hope to have something where you can record both the matic & survey outputs, e.g. overlaying contour lines, or vectorization on top of your models to augment the data you can show to your clients. We aim at increasing the video quality that you can export.
