AMD has a new processor, the Ryzen 9 3950X, which will be available later this month - and it is the fastest CPU I have yet tested in Pix4D! I thought it would be worth sharing the performance results here, in case anyone is considering a new workstation in the coming months:
I should also mention that both Intel and AMD have more processors coming out before the end of the year as well - so the situation could potentially change, but I was really impressed with this chip

You are very welcome! It is definitely interesting to look at those full results, where there are tidbits like Intel’s Core i9 9900K and i7 9700K still being the fastest during Step 1 (so it must not be very heavily threaded on the CPU?) but the new AMD chips far outpacing Intel in the other steps thanks to the combo of good single-threaded performance with twice the number of total cores.
