Hi Julie, in the same way. I am too interested to use my Parrot Disco with Pix4D Caputre. I spent a lot money in 2 Parrot Discos and mounting Parrot Sequoia and another camera separately.
Please, Please! help us! I already have Parrot Disco + Parrot Sequoia and is not smart buying another DISCO PRO AG including them together. Of course, instead to waste a lot money in Disco Pro AG, i would like to pay for using my current Disco with Pix4D. If is possible of course!
The Disco hardware is compatible with the arduplane software except of the RC. They recommend using a standard sbus RC, but ist is also possible to fly the Disco without a RC.
AP is a perfect software for image aqusition.
Also interested in PIx4D for standard Parrot Disco… we use GoPro 5 with integral GPS, we have no interest in the Sequoia for our application which is just standard mapping.
Surprised you dont support it as flight controller is the same as the AG version… just add option for standalone camera…
Hello I need support for the standard parrot disco also. Asap! Please pass to your team. What’s the current status? This should be pretty easy since you already support the parrot disco AG.
Software development is always subjected to last-minute changes especially in the field of cutting-edge technology. This does not depend solely on us but on many external factors that make the planning and release process complex. Also, there is a trade-off between integrating new drones, upgrading the SDK (development tools made available by the manufacturers), implementing new features (flight, settings, mission management, etc.), improving the current interface, refactoring the code to support future development, and solving bugs.
I believe that it would be a huge advantage for Pix4d to prioritize adoption of the Parrot Disco as a platform to use with Pix4d capture. Currently, the main fixed wing platform available I have seen is the Sensefly eBee (Sensefly is part of the Parrot Group) and that is way out of the reach of many students and small businesses that are looking to begin drone based ortho mapping and 3d mesh creation. I know that I have been waiting for a low cost fixed wing mapping drone alternative for several years now and the Parrot Disco seems primed to be that platform provided a good software package is available to drive it.
I completely agree to all the comments of needing the Parrot Disco to work with Pix4D Capture. Regular people can’t afford the AG version. There are so many people out there which just need it for large area imagery collections. Pix4D please support this and you will open up your business to a much larger customer base.
Hi. Could you please add my request to develop PIX4D support for the standard Parrot disco. Our 2 aircraft carry the MAPIR camera for mapping. We are not interested in the Ag product but will consider purchasing your processing software if it works with our hardware. Thank you.
Pix4d already picks up the standard disco as disco+seqoua
Standard disco users like myself are not looking for full camera support, just the ability to use the grid mission planner, nor do we want camera triggering ect
Please give us an update on this
As the software already picks up the disco so I would assume it’s just some tweaking
I am still VERY disappointed that the PIX4D capture app does not support the standard Disco.
Yesterday I flew a free flight mission and collected a series of images from the Parrot’s FPV camera.
2 second intervals and the “Snapshot” setting at the maximum 83 deg down angle.
I then loaded into PIX4D mapper and was able to generate a reasonably good looking mosaic.
This is with the AIRCRAFT camera only.
On April 5th last year it was announced that the support for the standard Disco would be available. Please pass on my urgent recommendation that this be followed up.
If Pix4D wanted to do this it would be a minor amount of work, I am guessing their commercial arrangement with Parrot stops them doing this, rather than a technical one.
We have no interest in the Sequoia, GoPro 6 does the job for us, all images georeferenced, we don’t need to trigger it from the Chuck, timelapse mode works great.
Looks like we will be buying Agisoft Photoscan and loading Arduplane on the Parrot Disco… would have quite happily used Pix4D but not impressed with their response to this request, which has now been running for well over a year…
You all know that Parrot owns Pix4D. Why would they give commercial abilities to a drone that is not sold for commercial use? They have one already (Disco AG). They charge a premium for the commercial use. They will never give us the control ability. $5,000 Bird vs $1,000, all controlled by software.
