Orient point cloud to plane - project orientation

hi folks, rather then using a vector, sometimes there aren’t any items that are 100% perpendicular to an axis. however there are often times “planes” or “surfaces” 

I think it would be helpful to provide us with a tool that will allow us (users) to define a “plane” (similar to the area tool?) and then use that plane to project a vector to align the project to.

Yes indeed, at the moment this is not available in our software. But, have you tried to add constraints as if it would be a plane (see my screenshot below)
