I tested out free flight mode today for the first time. The video feedback was extremely laggy to the point where I was not able to fly the P4 drone safely. Is this issue specific to the LG G4 phone?
Besides using our latest app version (Android 3.1.0 and iOS 1.3.2), we usually recommend to make sure that:
- The manufacturer’s app (DJI GO) is not running in the background especially after connecting the device to the drone.
(Android) Also check that this app is not selected as the default app when connecting. If needed, force the app to stop, using the application manager of the device.
- The latest firmware is installed on the drone. This can be checked with the manufacturer’s app.
- The latest OS version is installed on the mobile device (ideally).
The problem you report might be specific to the phone indeed. We are not testing LG phones on our side.
Could confirm the points above? Is there any chance that you could try to use our app with another Android device?
DJI GO was closed and the firmware are both up to date.
Have you done any testing with any Sony devices? Specifically the Z4 or Z5?
We are testing the app with a Sony Z3 Compact among other Android devices and we have not experienced the problem you described so far. If you have the chance to try another device let us know.
Also a beta Android version has just been just released. We will send you a procedure by email if you are interested to test it with your LG phone.
