When I save files to external drive from an ipad pro to process locally the jpegs have additional data, is it the pixel depth map? When I download the images from a cloud processed file they do not include this information. Can pix4d now utilize rgb-depth images?
To expand upon this, if it isn’t using the depth camera, can the app be made to capture at higher resolution than the 1920x1440?

We don’t currently save any depth data in the app so it is not clear what you are referring. The app uses AR(Augmented Reality) for highly accurate positional and pose information coupled with images taken from the AR Video Stream. Due to the positional information, processed results are recreated to scale.
Regarding your second question, we are limited by apple frameworks and hardware, I’m sure it’s something we will continually look into and may improve in the future but it’s out of our hands.

Thanks for reply, I haven’t dug any further into files. I just received unknown data when opening files copied from ipad pro in Photoshop but didn’t from the cloud images it must just refer to unsupported meta data or something. So far I have had really nice results with catch, the lidar helps you maintain even sampling distance/resolution since it has a limited throw distance.

The resolution of the images extracted from the AR Video Stream for iPhone 12 Pro is the same. It is 1920x1440.
Ok, thanks. Now I’m experiencing the capabilities of my iPhone 12 Pro using my DJI osmo mobile 3 (this will be the next step) and it would be interesting to participate to the challenge for Pix4DSurvey, also if the time is very, very short
