Hi Arif,
Unfortunately it is not possible to use Google map as a base map in Pix4Dmapper.
You can choose between Satellite or Maps basemap :
It has been suggested to our developers for future implementation. But at the moment we cannot guarantee anything.
However, it is possible to display Google maps for image acquisition in Pix4Dcapture for both iOS and Android.
Please avoid duplicate posts/comments (as you already asked it here)

Hi Marco
I managed for google background image in Pix4Dcapture with much difficulty. Please provide the same options in Pix4Dmapper also. It would be more beneficial for such a expansive software to introduce google map as default imagery.
Most of the time land survey is required on remote areas where internet services are hardly available. please also introduce some procedure in Pix4Dcapture to locate a specific remote location while sitting in the office to plan for survey in advance.

Hi Arif,
You can use basemaps offline with Pix4Dcapture:

Hi Marco
I have to survey a land 50 Km away where there is no internet connection. I know the google co-ordinates of the location but planing the mission while sitting in my office, how I should locate the desired location on Pix4dCapture.
Once locating the desired location I can store map as offline, but problem is locating the desired location while planing mission in my office.

Hi Arif,
For the moment, there is no functionality in Pix4Dcapture that will enable you to search for a location by entering geographical coordinates. The request has been shared with the developer’s team so that they consider to implement it in a next release. Having the possibility to easily organize flight plans from an office and then transfer it to mobile devices is one of our priority for the future. However, we can not give any timeline for now.
If you are not sure about the location you would like to map when planning from your office, I would suggest to follow this recommendations to load and save offline maps:
Note that once on the field, if you open the mission, you will be able to readjust your flight plan to cover properly the desired area to be mapped.

Hi Marco
I prepared a kml in google earth pro and loaded in pix4dcapture project. whenever I try to plan mission, it takes me to my current location. Could not find any way to locate the loaded KML location, so totally lost.
I am using trial version of Pix4d. I mentioned some practical problems that I am facing which should be conveyed to development team. otherwise reports generated by Pix4dmapper are appreciate able.
Regards.
Hi Arif,
Thank you for your feedback.
There is currently no functionality/option/button to go to the location of the .kml file imported in Pix4Dcapture. However, it would be an interesting feature, I will share it with the developer’s team so that they consider to implement it in the future.
For now, The 3 available buttons enable you to:

Hi Gaël
I would also suggest that there must be some function in pix4dcapture to mark/navigate to google/UTM coordinate supplied while mission planning.
I know the coordinates of a center line of road to be built in a rural area, while mission planning there must be some way to mention those points for the land to be surveyed.

Hi Arif,
Thank you for your feedback and the functionality that you suggested. It has already been suggested by few users and I agree that this functionality would facilitate the way to plan the flight for the users.
We will definitely consider to implement it in the future and I shared your feedback with the developer’s team.
Best,
g’day all
because the default Mapbox maps are so crap, I also wanted to use Google Maps as my base map
after a couple of mins searching, found a solution
Google Maps : https://mt1.google.com/vt/lyrs=r&x={x}&y={y}&z={z}
Google Satellite: http://www.google.cn/maps/vt?lyrs=s@189&gl=cn&x={x}&y={y}&z={z}
put the above URLs into the settings when adding a new base map source
works no probs
I honestly can’t understand why the Pix4D developers haven’t shared this with their community of users sooner
cheers
I assume you are referring to Pix4Dmapper? Can you please explain in more detail how this is done? Note also the URL links don’t work when I clicked them?
