Hi there. I have a problem with importing GCPs to current new project. Their coordinate system is ETRS89 / ETRS-GK27FIN. I chose for this project EPSG 3134 and can now see in GCP/MTP Manager dialog box that datum correctly.
However when I try to import GCPs, software says: “Error e0097: The imported points are probably not in the GCP coordinate system.”
It looks like the X coordinate is not correct, that is probably the reason you get this error message. The X coordinates of this system should have 6 integral digits, e.g. 472310.945. Additionally, 1 and 2 are the numbers ordering the points and they should always be in the first place.
Can you please double-check the coordinates of the points? How did you measure the GCPs?
The “27” in the beginning of X means the coordinate system “stripe” in the Finnish Gk coordinate system. 27 means 27 degrees longitude (central meridian of that stripe) and has actually nothing “real” to do with the Eastern coordinate (X). Gk system uses Gauss-Krueger projection whereas Finnish ETRS-TM35FIN coordinate system uses UTM projection. With this UTM I have no problem because in X there are 6 integer digits as you said (Gk has 8 digits). Will I get correct results if I just omit the “stripe” numbers from the beginning of X like this: 27510488.723 >> 510488.723
Can you please make sure that you select the ETRS89 / ETRS-GK27FIN coordinate system in the GCP Coordinate System section of the GCP/MTP Manager and that the Coordinates Order in the Import Ground Control Points window is X, Y, Z ?
Then, you should be able to import the GCPs file using the initial content:
