I’ve noticed on a few projects that when I bring in the images during the project setup, it will read the camera orientation from the EXIF data. When I set the output coordinate system to arbitrary in the next step, the camera orientations are stripped from the image. I verified this by reviewing the Image Properties Editor once the job was created. Does anybody know why this is happening? This does not happen on projects where I’m using a known coordinate system. This is on 4.8.4.
Yes, this is expected.
The transformation of Yaw Pitch Roll to Omega Phi Kappa angles depends on having a transformation from the navigation coordinate reference system (CRS) to the project CRS. If the output CRS is arbitrary, it is not possible to do this transformation confidently.
I hope this helps.
