Please add the ability to export and import a site calibration. It is available in Mapper, why not in Matic?
We return to various sites over and over. Landfills in particular. It would save a TREMEDOUS amount of time not having to set GCPs every time and recalibrate every time. Pix mentioned it would be in the pipeline and included by the end of the year in 2022. Please get that ability added.
Kindly,
Pierson
Hi @photchkiss
Would you like to create the site localization file in PIX4Dmatic? or is it about importing a file? We added the possibility to import “Trimble CAL” files in version 1.7 and the possibility to import PIX4Dmapper site localization files in version 1.62. We have the ability to create site calibration files in PIX4Dcatch, which can be imported to PIX4Dmatic too, would that work (here is the support page: Site Localization - PIX4Dcatch RTK)? We’re still missing compatibility with more file types (are there specific ones you’d like to see?) as well as the possibility to create the site calibration in PIX4Dmatic directly (that’s on our radar though).
Good Afternoon and thenk you.
If I go back to the same site with the same UAV ( I currently use an M3E) and set the base (DJI Base) on the same control point, I’d like not to have to set all the GCPs and calibrate to them. It would be nice to show up, set up have a permanent checkpoint like a manhole or something, fly it and bring it in and process without clicking a bunch of images with GCPs. That capability existed in Mapper but not Matic. Does that make sense? I could just send one guy with the UAV license and not have to send a survey crew to set GCPs.
