Separate Roles for User administration and drive

Currently the role for sharing files (Manager) is the same role that enables to invite accounts or guests to the own cloud instance. It would be great to separate the roles more, for example by creating a role system for account management and a role system for document management.
I would like the role to share their own document not to be able to invite new accounts to their folder. Another functionality, for example as an additional setting, that allows to only invite accounts that are already within the organization, would also help to separate administrative and document sharing rights even better.

Hello @r.thissen

Thank you for your interest and feedback on the Organization Management system. I am now passing your feedback internally to the product team.

Have a nice day!

We noticed that Editors are unable to share data. To enable sharing, we have to assign them the Manager role, which grants excessive permissions. Are we missing something? According to your role description, Editors should be able to share data. Is there a way to get this done without making them managers?

I am aware that currently, the manager role (or higher) is the only one that can share contents.
The definition that I know is given here: Organization management
It says that Editors cannot create share links, but managers can, while as you say Managers have many more rights as well:
Editor:
Includes Reader permissions and:

  • Full access to datasets, sites, and folders.

  • Upload images and outputs.

  • Use desktop licenses.

  • Cannot manage share links.

    Manager:

    Includes Editor permissions and:

    • Enable/disable share links.

    • Invite, remove, and assign roles up to Manager.

    • Use Share to Cloud in supported Pix4D software.

    • Full access to licenses.

    • Buy Support & Upgrade options.

    • Redeem new licenses

Hello @Ben_Toebes

We apologize for the inaccuracy of this information. The actual process is as follows:

  • Only Owners, Managers, and Editors can create and process datasets in PIX4Dcloud.
  • Only Owners and Managers can enable the share link in a dataset in PIX4Dcloud.
  • If the share link is already enabled, Editors can also access it within the dataset in PIX4Dcloud.

We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience caused.

Have a nice day!
