PIX4Dsurvey to Revit: Only toposolids from PIX4Dsurvey?

Hello,

We recently purchased the PIX4Dsurvey license for our company and are currently in the process of testing features in relation with Revit. From my knowledge, PIX4Dsurvey can export terrain data (by exporting grids points and contours as .DXF file) which can then be used to generate toposolids in Revit.

As far as I understand it is not possible to generate BIM families (walls, floors, columns, etc.) directly from the point cloud data. I would like to ask if this is really the case or if there’s a hidden feature or way that I don’t know that would allow to generate those elements. Any insight or advice would be much appreciated.

Hello,

You are correct. It is not currently possible to generate BIM data, such as IFC files, directly in PIX4Dsurvey. However, you can digitize any feature in the point cloud, but you will need to export it as a .DXF file. Then you could take it into a third-party software to convert the file.
