Please tell me after purchasing the ViDOC last year for $6000+ and using the RTK features, that we do not now need to budget an additional $2400 yearly, just to do what I was doing with the device until a few days ago for free.
Completely agree. I personally don’t have much of a use for the AR part of the product. Paying an additional monthly fee to use RTK I already paid for is not very attractive.
This has left a bad taste in my mouth for sure. We just purchased a ViDOC and perpetual licenses for React and Matic.
Just updated the app and extremely displeased that they removed functionality. I finally have our team trained up on the ViDOC only to have the company change their terms of service and put functionality behind a paywall when it was previously free.
Hi all,
If you purchased a viDoc from Pix4D before Sept 1st, 2024 you have a perpetual, hardware-attached license for the full version of Catch for the life of your viDoc hardware. This license is automatic and gives access to all functionality of PIX4Dcatch for the life of your viDoc. It can’t be used with other devices, but can be used by anyone connecting that viDoc with PIX4Dcatch on any mobile device. More details here: PIX4Dcatch Professional License
This is because we included the license price for PIX4Dcatch in the pricing for viDoc from the beginning. Now that we’re supporting additional devices from other manufacturers (Emlid Reach RX, Trimble Catalyst DA2, Bad Elf coming soon), we needed to separate the PIX4Dcatch license price from the price of hardware. This is how we can continue to invest in PIX4Dcatch to make it the best mobile scanning solution available.
Finally, if you did not buy your viDoc from Pix4D, please contact Pix4D sales for options.
I hope that clarifies for everyone and removes the concern about the license changes.

Thank you for clearing this up. I can confirm that after choosing the ViDOC and going to the settings, it no longer asks for a subscription and the features all work.
I do wish this would have been better communicated when the 2.0 update was released (unless I missed that somewhere).
Hi Steven,
Thanks for the feedback. We will work to improve the communication here. Most of the marketing material was focused on customers for newly supported devices. Our viDoc support for the PIX4Dcatch license documented in the FAQ, but it could have been made more obvious.
Sorry to have scared you unnecessarily.
Best,
Jeff
