We recently upgraded to the Capture Pro App after experiencing the take off error with the Remote ID on our DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2 that has been reported in other threads. In the original Capture app, we had the option for “Safe Mode” to stop the drone so that it could steady before taking a picture. I am not seeing that feature in the new Capture Pro app and trying to see if I am just not seeing it. I often have to do missions at night on roadways and my experience has been that the pictures are too blurry if the drone does not stop to snap the shot.
Is there a feature request list somewhere where we can request a safe mode for other mission types? Since this is already in the software, it seems like a simple fix to add it to other mission types.
We use our UAVs for crash and crime scene mapping. Some crash and crime scenes happen at night. Safe mode was essential for clear photos when doing grid and orbit missions. Without safe mode, these flights are done manually. While the results are OK, they are better with safe mode.
Thank you for the description of your use case and your request. I shared this with the developers. Please keep in mind that I can’t promise that this feature will be implemented.
Safe mode is a crucial feature for many. Some countries have weak solar radiation, specially in winter. If you do not allow safe mode for standard mapping missions, and yo do not warn about speed limit to prevent motion blur, the app becomes prone to cause blurry and suboptimal results.
I would say “safe mode” removal has been an unnecesary step backwards that partly obscures many of the nice features that makes pix4d capt so nice and recommendable. Please bring it back!
