Mavic 3M multispectral bands being saved as .jpg and not .tif

Some of the multispectral images captured using my DJI Mavic 3M are saved locally as .tif while others are .jpg. The .jpg files give me an error where they can’t find the EXIF file associated with that specific camera. I’m wondering why the software is saving some files as .jpg when they should be .tif. Any recommendations?

Hello @mark.salvatore, I believe the issue is related to the camera/drone. Please contact drone manufacturer and see what they have to say about the issue.

Hey Mark,

I am having the same exact issue. Red and Red Edge are saving as .tiff files and D,G,NIR are saving as .jpg

Were you able to figure out why this happened?

Thanks,

Austin

Hey Austin, I think I figured out the issue! It looked to be an issue with the write speed onto the drone micro-SD card. If the imaging cadence was too rapid, then it would cause issues when writing the different image files onto the SD card. I haven’t run into this problem since I started dropping my flight speeds to ~80% of the desired speed. You take a bit of a cut on the area you can cover when flying slower, but totally worth it to never experience this issue again! Good luck!

Glad you found a fix.

I just tried doing that. Even slowing down to 50% and still not having much luck with those other bands formatting in a .tiff.

Thanks for your reply!
