Looking for use cases for image capture from ground vehicles

I would like to know if there are any successful use cases for image capture form ground locations including motor vehicles and/or walking.  

The desired product is to get a scan of a shoreline where top level views or a complete 360 3D model are not essential.

Yes, I have done it several times. Try not to grab too much sky: the software never manages to get tie points there. As usual, overlap is key.
