Issues with GCP Detection and Image Processing in Pix4DCloud Advanced

Hi,

I am experiencing issues while processing images in Pix4DCloud Advanced. I am using a DJI Mini Mavic 3 Pro drone, controlled by the Dronelink app, to capture aerial images for my projects.

Recently, I uploaded 221 images to Pix4DCloud Advanced. However, in my last two attempts, only a portion of the images were processed—one attempt showed 128 images uploaded, and the other showed 111. I’m unsure why the software isn’t recognizing all the images.

Additionally, the automatic detection of Ground Control Points (GCPs) is failing. Despite having placed GCPs with known coordinates, Pix4D is not detecting them correctly during processing.

I suspect that either Pix4D is having difficulty recognizing images from the DJI Mini Mavic 3 Pro, or the high-resolution photo function in the Dronelink app might be causing issues with Pix4D.

Could you please assist me in resolving these issues? Specifically:

  1. Are there any known compatibility issues between Pix4DCloud Advanced and the DJI Mini Mavic 3 Pro?
  2. Does the high-resolution photo mode in Dronelink affect image processing in Pix4D?
  3. Are there recommended settings or workflows to ensure all images are correctly processed and GCPs are properly detected?

I appreciate your assistance and look forward to your guidance.

Best regards,

Hello @mcecbim

  1. Are there any known compatibility issues between Pix4DCloud Advanced and the DJI Mini Mavic 3 Pro?

With the understanding that we are not familiar with all of Dronelink’s mission planning settings, we are not aware of any problem with PIX4Dcloud processing DJI Mavic Mini 3 Pro images that were captured with Dronelink’s high-resolution photo mode.

  1. Does the high-resolution photo mode in Dronelink affect image processing in Pix4D?

We recommend they always capture images at the highest resolution supported by the camera, i.e., 48 megapixels for the DJI Mini 3 Pro according to DJI Mini 3 - Specs - DJI, and never edit or modify the images before uploading them to PIX4Dcloud for processing

  1. Are there recommended settings or workflows to ensure all images are correctly processed and GCPs are properly detected?

Yes, we have specifications and guidelines to follow to ensure all images are calibrated and GCPs are detected.
