Issue correctly projecting an orthomosaic in GIS software

Hi there,

I’m looking for help regarding an issue projecting an orthomosaic from Pix4Dmatic into a GIS software. When I measure a specific feature in Pix4Dmatic (in this case, a landslide deposit), the measurements are accurate. However, when I export the orthomosaic and the DSM into a GIS software (ArcMap and QGIS) and set the projection to the one listed in Pix4Dmatic (in this case, WGS84, UTM zone 10N, EPSG:32610), even making sure each projection parameter matches between software, the measurements are very inaccurate. I have screenshots but it seems I can only upload one at a time!

I asked the Pixie AI and it told me to export the orthomosaic “with overview” for greater accuracy. I’m not sure if that’s a real thing but I can’t find such an option anywhere. The only options are see are export format, quality, and image size.

I would appreciate any help with this!

Thank you

Update: I realized that the orthomosaic had not exported with an associated xml file which describes the projection and geotransformation. I believe this is the issue. I have tried re-processing the orthomosaic and re-exporting it but it still does not export with that xml file. I suppose my question now is: why won’t my orthomosaic export with this xml file and how can I ensure that it does?

Thank you!
