Include argentinian geoid AR16 into predefined vertical CRS

Hello,

Is it possible to include argentinian geoid Ar16 into predefined vertical CRS?

You can find all technical documentation in our national geographic institute web page here: IGN

Regards,

Santiago.

Hi Santiago,

Thank you for your request.

I can see that we would need a few things from the local authority to be able to integrate this geoid into our software. Would you happen to have a contact there?

Are you familiar with which vertical coordinate reference system this geoid corresponds to? I do not see any registered with EPSG.org.

Regards,
-Jon

Hi Jon,

I don’t have a contact there but I can try and write to them and ask for anything you would need.
As for the vertical coordinate reference system I believe this geoid was adjusted to the SRVN16 (EPSG:9255).

Regards,

Santiago.

Hi Santiago,

No worries then, I can reach out. Thank you for providing the vertical reference.

Regards,
Jon

Is there any update regarding the argentinian geoid being included in the list of supported geoids? I really want to go back to pix4d but not being able to use the same geoid as the one we use for gcps is a limiting factor.

Regards,

Santiago.

You can expect the Argentinian geoid model to be available in early Q4. It was added to PROJ and we are waiting for the next PROJ release (target: beginning of September).
