I use Pix4DFields for agricultural photogrammetry work. On occasion, I am asked to help with drainage analysis. I realize I can do some of that with QGIS, but am exploring the rest of the Pix4D offerings to see if there is something more seamless…
Is Survey the right package to help generate traditional topographic maps?
If yes, is there a way to import from Fields? (I see other Pix4D programs, but not 'Fields for import…)
If you use the Accurate processing pipeline, PIX4Dfields allows you to export a DSM. This DSM can then be manually imported into PIX4Dmatic 2.0, where contours can be generated. However, PIX4Dmatic 2.0 does not support creating full map layouts, so you would need to use a GIS application for that step.
For additional context, PIX4Dsurvey has been merged into PIX4Dmatic, and this combined product is now called PIX4Dmatic 2.0. PIX4Dmatic 2.0 is available under different license plans. If you only need survey-related tools, the Analyst plan is sufficient.
