Hello, I have a question about the orientation of the image with the viDoc RTK. Does the viDoc have an IMU or not? Does it use the IMU of the iPhone (accelerometer + gyroscope).
Thanks for your help

Hello @adrien.dufour ,
The viDoc RTK rover does not have an internal IMU, it uses the IMU of the mobile device.

Hello, thank you for your answer,
Do you know how the data synchronization/coupling with the viDoc GNSS and the phone IMU data is done?
Regards,
Adrien
Hi Adrien,
The app uses the data from the IMU to inform to device positioning and movement, and corrections received from the viDoc is used to refine the absolute positioning. This is all computed/coupled in the app after the scan is completed.

Hello,
Thanks for the answer,
Is the smartphone’s IMU accurate enough to determine image orientation? I mean doesn’t the IMU drift over time?
Regards,
Adrien
Hi Adrien,
Yes, and any drift needs to be corrected.

-Jon
