Geolocation of the orthomozaic seems off

I have created a orthomozaic from drone MS-images from a field trial.

When I overlay (using annotations) the location of the trial plots (measured corners with GPS) for annotation the mozaic seems to be shifted with about 1,5 m, because they will overlaying the tramlines.

How can I improve the overlay to get the right statistics for the trial plots?

Hi,

Did you fly with an RTK drone? Did you capture the plots with a precise manual GPS or with a phone?

You can move the annotations by clicking on the arrows at the center of each polygon while editing them inside PIX4Dfields.

Best

Hi Jose,

Sorry I forgot to mention.

I fly with a non-RTK Yuneec drone H520. The camera that I use is a LaQuinta MS-camera. It is not integratedin the drones GPS, but has its own GPS (also not RTK).

I get the impression that in the stichting process the location accuracy of the individual images gets lost. It look like a structuaral shift of about 1 m.

The annotation plots are measured with a RTK handheld unit in the field.

The individual fields are not exactly recognisable in the image, but the plots are definitely not crossing the tramlines of the machines, but in pix4d ortho it looks like they are.

Could it be caused by some transformation from WGS84 to UTM, or something?

Hi,

Have you tried both fast and accurate processing? If the drone is not RTK, we can’t expect any accuracy, as it will depend on the GPS at the time of the flight.

You will have to manually move the GPS annotations manually, if possible, or fly again leaving visible marks to overlay the manual annotations later.

Hi José,

I normally use the fast processing. When I tried the accurate processing, after about 5 minutes. I get the Failed to stitch images error R0009.Switching off GPU doesn’t help, nor does switching off radiometric correction.
