Experience with the Kodak PixPro SP360?

Has anyone used the Kodak PixPro SP360 4K camera with Pix4DMapper? I acquired the 3DR Solo kit for the SP360 and I am just starting to experiment with it.

Aloha Timothy,

I haven’t tried the Kodak SP360 camera, but have some experience using a Ricoh Theta S 360 Camera.  I found the 360 imagery worked best for interior spaces/models (i.e.  Where the area was enclosed and didn’t include extraneous data from the sky and distant objects).  When mounted to a drone, the 360 camera often captures large areas/amounts of “Sky” and other extraneous data in each image.  This data can be Masked out for processing, but this adds considerable work for large projects.  I’d love to hear about your experiences with the Kodak PixPro SP360.  Keep in mind that the Pix4D Capture Ap won’t trigger the auxiliary mounted camera and that extracting still images from a 4K video won’t provide as high a resolution images as actual Still Images captured by the 360 camera.

There are some support articles that relate to processing images from Spherical cameras that me be helpful, such as:
