I’m operating Pix4DMapper on a laptop powered with i7 2.6Ghz processor with 32GB ram and 500GB storage (not SSD) and poor graphics - which is really struggling!
I am currently working on a site 10Km long in the UK that takes 8 drone flights producing just under 2600 photos (20 Megapixel each) each month for volume purposes.
I am also wanting to run, at the same time, CAD and Survey software that requires 16GB ram to process point cloud data and run the volume calcs.
What computer processor, RAM, graphics, and storage would you recommend?
Hi Kevin,
I think the bottleneck you are experiencing is the amount of RAM. If you are considering purchasing a new computer then I would want at least 64gb, possibly more. As for your GPU, we recommend a GeForce GPU compatible with OpenGL 3.2 and 2 GB RAM. If your other programs are using your GPU then you may want to increase the amount of RAM. As for the CPU, we recommend a Quad-core or hexa-core Intel i7, i9, Xeon, or AMD Threadripper. I would consult with your other software to understand what their requirements are as well. Lastly, SSD hard drive is also highly recommended.
