can we process L1 lidar data on Pix4D mapper software or must need DJI terra or other Pix4d software ?

Hi @5dworldllc ,

Thank you for reaching out to Pix4D Technical Support.

It is possible in PIX4Dmapper to import a point cloud generated by an external source like LiDAR. PIX4Dmapper will use this point cloud in order to generate the DSM, orthomosaic, and other outputs after processing step 3. DSM, Orthomosaic and Index .
For more information: How to import a Point Cloud delivered by an External Source into PIX4Dmapper for processing

In terms of PIX4Dmatic, it can combine the point clouds from both LiDAR (only from PIX4Dcatch using LiDAR data included device) and RGB images. But the LiDAR data can only be from using LiDAR supported devices (i.e. iPhone/iPads), no other external LiDAR data can be used for processing in PIX4Dmatic at the moment.

I hope this helps.

Best regards,
Rosana

Just to verify…

So we cannot use PIX4Dmatic to process our LiDAR data to receive a point cloud export? (also using Zenmuse L1)

But instead we can only combine point clouds of lets say a Zenmuse P1 photogrammety lens, and LiDAR from our phone through PIX4D catch.

hi @xzamora,

Yes, for now, this is not possible.

But instead we can only combine point clouds of lets say a Zenmuse P1 photogrammety lens, and LiDAR from our phone through PIX4D catch.

Well, this it could be possible in PIX4Dsurvey. Basically, you can generate the point cloud with the P1 images on PIX4Dmatic or PIX4Dmapper and exported as .las file. Besides, you can export the LiDAR date captured with PIX4Dcatch as a point cloud with .las format from PIX4Dmatic.
Later, you can import the 2 .las files in PIX4Dsurvey simultaneously. This software accepts several point cloud as inputs at once.

If you need a PIX4Dsurvey trial license, you can get one from the following link: Download Pix4D software

Please let us know if this workflow works for you.

Have a very nice day!

Best regards
