Can I use Pix4D Capture Pro - Build B with a DJI Mavic 2 Pro?

I had such good luck with Pix4D Capture Pro Build B on my DJI Mini 3 Pro that I’ve purchased a DJI Mavic 2 Pro so I can try Pix4D Capture Pro with the 20MP camera on the Mavic 2 Pro.

Will I need to uninstall the “Build B” version of Pix4D Capture Pro and then re-install the version on the Google Play Store?

Thank you!

Hi @joe.stroup

Glad to hear that you had good success with the Mini 3 Pro. For the Mavic 2 Pro, you can download PIX4Dcapture Pro directly from Google Play, and it will be accessible. You don’t need to install a special build like you did for the Mini 3 Pro.

Hope you enjoy flying the Mavic 2 Pro too!

Best,
Ryan

Thank you for your response,

I think didn’t communicate my question properly.

I will be using the same Android phone to control my new Mavic 2 Pro as I’m using for my Mini 3 Pro.

Will I have to delete the Build-B version of Pix4D Capture Pro and replace it with the standard version when I use my Mavic 2 Pro?

Thank you?

Hi Joe,

That is my mistake, sorry about that. No, you don’t have to uninstall the Build used for the Mini 3 Pro, you can have both versions on the same Android device. Just be sure to open the right one for the right drone.

Best,
Ryan

Thanks for your reply Ryan,

The “Build B” version of Pix4D Capture Pro has the same icon and name as the regular version. I haven’t tried to load both yet, but I’m guessing that one might overwrite the other. Even if it didn’t - I don’t know how I’d be able to tell which icon on the screen would bring up which version.

Can you add any info that would help understanding this?

Thank you - Joe

Hi @joe.stroup,

That is a conundrum based on the limitations of naming applications with Android.

What I ended up doing was creating a folder on my Android and putting the build that I use less in the folder with the build name as the title. This way, I know which one is which, but it requires an added step to access the app. I will pass along the question directly to the developers to see if they know a better workaround.

It would be nice to rename the App directly on the home screen, but at least with my Android, it is not possible.

Best,
Ryan
