Has anybody tried to use a camera (GoPro / 130g Canon) on a hexacoper without a gimbal?
When flying without my 240g gimbal I get a +30% battery autonomy, but I don’t know how to mount the cameras without the gimbal.
I have used pictures from Mobius camera (5Mpx) without gimbal and the results are surprisingly good. So I think it will be even better with a GoPro.
i found great success with my phantom 2 vision. i modified the camera for nadir position and disconnected the servo.
A gimbal to stabilize the camera is actually not useful for 3D reconstructions as long as you can make sure the image overlap is there. I would rather go for a longer flight time.
