We are using the P4D Capture App in combination with a DJI Phantom 2 Vision +. Depending on the capabilities we require, we use either the iOS or Android version.
There is a discrepancy between the satellite imagery being used by iOS (v0.4.0; v 1.2.0) and Android (v2.1.1), where the iOS version is much, much better in the areas we are surveying. However, for this project we specifically need to use Android since we must fly at elevations greater than 100m using the Phantom2 Vision+ unit. Will there be an update soon for Android soon that will incorporate the same satellite imagery the iOS version uses?
Hi Christopher,
The map providers are different between Android and iOS, which explains that one is more up to date than another. Unfortunately, as the map providers are different, there is no older version of Pix4Dcapture on Android with the same maps as on iOS.
Regarding the flight height limitation on iOS, there should not be a limitation at 100m altitude for the iOS version. The firmware of the Phantom 2 Vision+ is the same for about 1 year, and we did not get any feedback regarding this problem from other users.
Perhaps there is a limitation for the altitude that was set in the DJI Vision app. If this is not the case, the problem may come from somewhere else. In this case, please describe this problem more in details, and tell us what you have tested and the behavior of the drone. Additionally, it would be useful if there was a specific error message.
