Hi @mark5, @Dan_Ausley,
I understand your concerns about creating, sharing, and then keeping track of a unique link for each PIX4Dcloud dataset and site.
The ability to more easily manage access to datasets and sites by sharing a folder instead of a set of links is not available today.
In the meantime, we do offer the option to manage access to PIX4Dcloud datasets and sites using roles instead of links with Pix4D’s organization management.
With Pix4D’s organization management, you can create one organization for each of your clients or projects. Then invite your clients to log in with their own Pix4D account and access all of the datasets and sites in that organization.
This way, you and your clients will no longer have to create, share, and manage links to individual PIX4Dcloud datasets and sites.
Please note that with Pix4D’s organization management, each Pix4D organization is a distinct entity that requires its own PIX4Dcloud license to process and, more importantly, save PIX4Dcloud datasets. Consequently, using Pix4D’s organization management as a workaround would require that each organization you create for the data sets of each client would need its own PIX4Dcloud license.
For example, let’s imagine you work with three clients and each of those clients works with a different set of PIX4Dcloud datasets and sites. In that case, with Pix4D’s organization management, you would:
- Create one Pix4D organization for each client.
- Move all of the datasets and sites to the corresponding organization.
- Add each client to their corresponding Pix4D organization with one of the four roles, i.e., Owner, Manager, Editor, or Reader.
More information about roles and general organization management is at Cloud products within an organization.
To start working with Pix4D’s organization management, please:
- Go to Contact support.
- For Product or topic your request is about / Product you are using, select Organization support.
- Once you have access to Pix4D organization management, create one organization for each client, move the PIX4Dcloud datasets and sites to the corresponding organization, and then invite your clients to join the organization.
You can count on us to let you know as soon as possible when you and your clients can start sharing and accessing your PIX4Dcloud datasets by sharing a link to a folder instead of a unique line for each dataset or site.
