Yes you can just use the drone. GCP´s are needed for higher accuracy. I’ve done same project using GCP´s and without them and had only minor differences.
If you are covering large area then I suggest you to use GCPs
And always remember to check your quality report

Pix4D software is hardware agnostic, so you can use imagery from virtually any digital camera. The Phantom 4 Pro UAV is a very popular UAV due to the large 1" 20MP Global Shutter sensor.
I would refer you to the Support article “Error estimation in Volume calculation” & How Pix4Dmapper calculates the Volume? for a more in depth explanation of the the values the Pix4D reports.
