Updated Computer Specs

In this thread, Marc details the specific hardware components that Pix4D uses in their computers as well as what you would use in a super computer…

"i7-3930k (6/12 cores/threads), 32-64 RAM, 256GB SSD, GTX780 ti-4GB

As super computer we suggest:
CPU: Intel Xeon E5-2697 v3 @ 2.60GHz
RAM: DDR4-2400 256 GB.
SSD: 1024 GB.
GPU: Geforce TITAN BLACK or tesla, or two titan black in parallel."

He even later suggests a motherboard.

Seeing as this thread is from 2015, I would like to know what components Pix4D now uses in their computers and what you’d recommend as a super computer.

Please be specific, a shopping list like Marc made would be ideal. Our company uses Pix4D on the regular and don’t want to guess at which components to build a computer from.

Thank you very much!

Horrible suggestion at a “super computer” with a Xeon for running Pix4D Desktop products.  While I like the idea of 256GB of RAM, if you don’t know how to set it up then too much RAM can be a bad thing for a project quality and speed.

Different types of projects use resources different so you just won’t hear ONE solution to the best computer.  We do have a benchmark thread to see comparisons…and this will give you a view of what today’s best hardware looks like.
