I am considering purchasing a workstation with the following configuration:
Motherboard – ASUS Z8PE-D18
Memory – DDR3 ECC 64GB
CPU x 2 – Zenon L5520 8M cache 2.26GHz – 4 cores 8 Threads
SSD x 2 – Samsung 850 EVO 250Gb ( RAID 1)
Graphics – GTX 960
Would this be a good spec to support Pix4D, that is, better that an i7?

This indeed looks like a potent machine that will be able to handle most Pix4Dmapper prrojects. Of course, this depends on many factors and speed is hard to quantify. Let us point you to this thread, where a similar topic is discussed.

One thing to keep in mind is to avoid bottlenecks, i.e. having one piece of hardware (RAM, CPU, etc) much slower than the rest: it would slow down the whole process
